Domo Kun Brownies!

Monday, September 15th, 2008 baking

It’s a well known fact that chocolate fudge brownies are awesome. It’s also a fact that Domo Kun is awesome. What was recently discovered (by myself and 2 work chums) is that Domo Kun Brownies are awesome x2.  Since we made them, I believe this also makes us awesome.

The materials used: 1 Fudge Brownie Box Mix (easier), Pre-made fondant, food colouring gels, sharp paring knives, a ruler, paper and a picture of domo kun.

We dyed various bits of fondant the appropriate colours: black for the eyes and red for the mouth. The fondant is naturally white so that worked well for the teeth. While the brownies were baking, we drew up schematics to get the dimensions correct.

Then, we took to the task of cutting the individual pieces. A rectangle for the mouth, a long string cut up and then rolled into little balls for the eyes, and the hardest part: the teeth.

Pictures of Domo would indicate that he has four teeth across the top & bottom of his mouth. The mouths we had created were really tiny, which meant that the teeth had to be even smaller!  Jess & Kate did a pretty awesome job with this though:

After this, we just cut up the brownies, flipped them upside down (to achieve that fuzzy domo fur look) and placed the eyes & mouths on them! ta-da!

Thanks for bringing some of these in on Tuesday. Although I felt bad for eating poor little Domo, he was certainly tasty!
